SKIN-ON-FRAME BOATS

Commission your perfect, custom-built boat

Lightweight, beautiful and extremely strong; skin-on-frame combines traditional construction with the best modern materials.

All boat frames are hand-built using rot-resistant woods, then covered in ballistic nylon which is saturated with a 2-part polyurethane. This creates a durable, abrasion-resistant and flexible skin that can withstand hard impacts and heavy seas.

Kayaks

I can build you a fully-customised, lightweight kayak; tailored to your size and paddling style.

Choose from a range of designs including the Cape Falcon-designed F1, as well a traditional Greenland Kayaks and Baidarkas.

Kayaks from £1950

Open Canoes

Whether you’re looking for a super-light solo pack-canoe, or a full-size double (2 Adults + kids/gear/dog...), I can build exactly what you want.

Canoes can be sized to nest inside each other (making it easier to store and transport them) and modified to take a sail.

Canoes from £1800

Rowboats & Tenders

If rowing is more your thing, I can build a boat to suit your needs.

Commission a skin-on-frame boat to suit your needs

Looking for something different? I'm always happy to modify traditional boat designs to make use of the benefits of lightweight, strong skin-on-frame construction.

Thinking of a small, ultralight yacht tender or agile, car-topable rowboat/dingy? Get in touch to discuss your project.

"The kayak is amazing. The attention to detail and workmanship is outstanding. You can tell this kayak was made by a person who loves what they do. It's quick, surfs like a dream, handles more challenging conditions with ease. It doesn't weather cock in windy conditions and is really easy to manoeuvre.

Weighing half the weight of a plastic boat makes it easy to car top and carry to the water. If you've never tried one of these kayaks I recommend that you borrow Ant's demo boat and give it a go."
